Group Guidelines and Information
The following is an example of some of the group rules we follow in our local chapter groups and on our site, blog, and social media.
We strive to be a safe place for moms in our local areas to talk. There are plenty of crunchy groups for larger areas, and plenty of more mainstream groups for moms locally too. In our local chapters, we are focused generally on the things we care deeply about! We provide the resources and support for moms who seek advice and have information to share about all sorts of crunchy things. That being said, we also know that parenting is multi-faceted. So feel free to ask all sorts of questions. Best car seats? Pediatricians? Great places to take kids on rainy days? We also talk about things about YOU - not just your kids! Birth control? Great places to eat with a friend or partner? It's open here.
Post as many questions as you like - we all look to each other for information. No question is silly, and we all have questions, so you just may be answering someone else's.
Always - ALWAYS - treat others with respect. We come from various backgrounds and various degrees of crunchiness. If someone is talking about something sensitive, scary ,or personal, please choose your words wisely. Don't suggest something different unless they have asked for some suggestions. Don't ever question another mother in your group. We are here to support each other and lift each other up, not bring each other down.
Also, please be involved! Our groups are very active and the more you're checking in and seeing what is going on, the more you can learn.
Lastly, enjoy yourselves. This is meant to be a welcoming, loving community where we can discuss things that may be 'less than mainstream' without judgment or fear. It's also a place to share exciting things, interesting news articles (politics and religion are not allowed topics), support each other, make new friends and grow in our community. Post away, attend events, and feel free to message one of your local admins if you ever have questions or suggestions! Thank you!
